Definition


The association consist of 

Ordinary members: open to every medical practitioner registered, provisionally registered or conditionally registered in the Register of the Medical Council of Malaysia, being ordinarily resident and having practiced in Sabah for a minimum of one year;

Associate members: open to medical practitioners resident in Sabah for less than one year or resident in the rest of Malaysia or Brunei, and who would otherwise qualify for ordinary membership. Also to paramedical persons resident within Malaysia or Brunei including dental surgeons, bacteriologists, biochemists, physiotherapists, radiologists and other persons with degrees or diplomas recognised by the association;

Overseas members: open to all those who have been previously been ordinary members, but leave Malaysia and take up permanent residence overseas;

Honorary members: may be conferred upon persons distinguished in public life who have rendered meritorious service to the medical or allied professions, or to the Association.
